New Atom Processor from Intel


Intel has confirmed Thursday that it is shipping the Atom N280 processor for computer manufacturers, which should provide more performance and improved graphics capabilities netBook.

The new single-core Atom processor is associated with a chipset that allows users to watch high definition content on the netBook, while drawing less power. The new chipset includes a hardware GN40 high definition video decoder that allows users to watch 720p HD video content.
